In October 2021, the World Health Organization published "The Health Argument for Climate Action" report, providing recommendations to governments on climate change and health. 

These recommendations included putting health and equity at the center of the United Nations climate negotiations; prioritizing climate interventions with the largest health, social and economic gains; and guiding a just and inclusive transition to renewable energy to save lives from air pollution, particularly from coal combustion.
