Zhangjiakou in north China's Hebei province was the co-host city of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and is home to eight venues that hosted most of the skiing and biathlon events.

The city has built nine ski facilities, with over 164 kilometers of ski runs. It has also built 21 indoor ice-skating venues, six cross-country skiing resorts and 31 snow-themed entertainment facilities. So far, Zhangjiakou's winter sports activities have attracted over 6 million participants.
