The Shenzhou-12 manned spaceship was the country's first crewed mission during the construction of its space station. Shortly after its launch on June 16, 2021, the spaceship successfully docked with the space station core module Tianhe.
During their three-month-long stay in orbit, the crew performed two rounds of extravehicular activities to install related equipment, such as extended extravehicular pump sets and lift panoramic cameras. A number of sci-tech experiments were also carried out regarding the space station's life-support system and in-orbit maintenance.
