Launched in July and October 2022, respectively, the Wentian lab module and Mengtian completed the formation of the T-shape structure of China's space station. While Wentian acts as a backup for core module functions, Mengtian is mainly used to carry out experiments on space tech and its applications, as well as facilitate the ins and outs of larger cargo and payloads.
