Cranberries, native to North America, are a tart, red berry commonly used in desserts, baked goods, and cocktails. However, Heilongjiang province in northeastern China has become the country's largest cranberry production base, surprising many.

Heilongjiang's long, cold winters and short, cool summers are ideal for cranberry growth. Heilongjiang's extensive wetlands also provide a perfect habitat for the berries.

Although the province's cranberry industry is still developing, it has posted rapid growth in recent years.
