In 2023, sci-fi creators deepened their engagement with Chinese industries. During the Chengdu Worldcon in October, the Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP), under the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), invited writers to explore the "China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor" project, also known as the "China Circulation-3" artificial sun project. In December, renowned authors Liu Cixin and Han Song visited "Deep Sea No. 1," the world's first deep-sea semi-submersible oil platform, supported by the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). Previously, in 2019, the Future Affairs Administration facilitated visits to national sci-tech enterprises, inspiring the book "The Pillars of a Great Power." For "The Wandering Earth II," central state enterprises provided resources like robots, quantum computers, 3D printing, and heavy industrial equipment. Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG), a leading heavy machinery manufacturer in China, created custom-made construction and machinery equipment for the film. During the promotion period, the CNNC supported the film on social media, stating, "You are free to imagine as you like, and we will try to turn your dreams into realities." Later, a group of central state enterprises, including China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) and China Telecom, voiced their support and showcased how technologies similar to those depicted in the film will be realized in the future. Closer communication and collaboration between sci-fi creators and Chinese high-tech central enterprises are set to generate more inspiration, timeless works, and technological innovations that were once confined to the realm of imagination.
