Chan has many other identities, including those of singer, director, filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, martial artist and philanthropist. In 2004, he was appointed as an ambassador for the UN Children's Fund and AIDS Agencies.
Chan began his acting career in the 1960s and has starred in more than 150 films. From his signature work "Drunken Master" in 1978 to the "Rush Hour" series, Chan gradually developed himself into an international superstar.
Chan has produced numerous box office hits while achieving various prestigious awards, including an Innovator Award from the 8th American Choreography Awards in 2002, a lifetime achievement award from the Taurus World Stunt Awards in 2002 and a Lifetime Achievement Award from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Asia in Singapore in 2007.
