Recipient of numerous awards, Lee has enthralled international audiences with his extraordinary talent in film directing ever since his first feature film "Pushing Hands". The film, a success in Taiwan both among critics and at the box office, was nominated for eight Golden Horse Awards and won Best Film award at the Asian-Pacific Film Festival.
So far, Lee won 2 Academy Awards for his direction of the 2005 film "Brokeback Mountain" and the Best Foreign-Language Film Oscar for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" in 2001. He also earned the prestigious Golden Lion Award for Best Picture at the Venice International Film Festival with "Brokeback Mountain" in 2005 and "Lust, Caution" in 2007. In his early career days, his "Wedding Banquet" (1993) and "Sense and Sensibility" (1995) helped him snatch the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival.
