Lang Lang, dubbed "China's Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart", is one of the world's greatest classical pianists who captivated their audiences with dazzling technique and charisma. Lang is the first Chinese pianist to perform with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic and all of the five top American orchestras. He appeared in Time magazine's 2009 list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World due to his contributions to popularizing classical music as well as his charitable efforts.

The prodigy, who began his piano training when he was only 3 years old, has given a lot of recitals and concerts in the most famous musical halls in many major cities around the world. He has won numerous awards and received high praise from many famous musicians and critics for his concert performances and best-selling albums.

In 2002, Lang won the inaugural Leonard Bernstein Award in Germany. Lang has been featured in numerous TV programs, including The Today Show and CBS Early Show and 60 Minutes.

Lang performed at the White House five times, the first of which was in 2005 when he was invited by former U.S. President George W. Bush. In addition, Lang has performed for many international dignitaries, including US President Barack Obama, Queen Elizabeth II, Chinese President Hu Jintao, German President Horst Köhler, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and former French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Most recently, he played Lizst's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6 and Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace in June 2012.

The young man is highly reputed as an ideal ambassador for classical music and a role model for young people. Steinway & Sons, the world's leading piano manufacturer, introduced its Lang Lang Piano Series in 2005, the first time for the company to name its product after a pianist's name in its history of more than 150 years.
