Seven-string zither, or Guqin, is a kind of Chinese musical instrument of the zither family. It has been played since ancient times, and has traditionally been favored by scholars and literati as an instrument of great subtlety and refinement. It tops the Four Arts of the Chinese Scholar, and the other three are Go, calligraphy and painting. [Photo by Xu Lin / China.org.cn]
