Located in central China’s Hunan Province, Biancheng Town (border town) connects Chongqing Municipality and Guizhou Province. It’s credited as a place that could reach three provinces with feet.

Its fame was brought by a Nobel-prize-nominated novel, Bian Cheng, created by China’s famous writer, Shen Congwen. This tragic love story was based on a true story, narrating the affection between a girl named Cuicui and two brothers. The author left an unclear ending that no one knew if the younger brother who Cuicui was waiting for would return or not.
