Puxian opera in SE China

A troupe member of Puxian opera, one of the oldest forms of Chinese opera, rehearses in Putian City, southeast China's Fujian Province, Sept. 19, 2012. Puxian opera, which originated from puppet shows, has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage. Nowadays, over 100 Puxian opera troupes in Putian give about 60,000 performances for local people every year.
