Located 24 kilometers southeast of Jilin City, Jilin Province, Songhua Lake is one of the most famous artificial lakes in China. It was created after the completion of the Fengman Hydropower Station in 1937. Equal to four Miyun Reservoirs in Beijing in size, the lake rivals the Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang Province.
