Located on the southern coast of the Bohai Sea and the eastern coast of the Laizhou Bay, Yantai has a coastline of 909.3 km with both soft sands and splendid marine-abrasion landforms. Along the bank different scenic spots and places of historic interest are found. A variety of islands also boost the city's tourism industry. More than 60 islands are scattered in the sea by an invisible hand, just in the way that pearls are inlaid to a piece of azure velvet. No wonder Yantai is one of the most favored coastal summer resorts.
