Ninety-year-old Halimai arranges her kerchief at Mahai Village of Da Qaidam in Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Haixi, northwest China's Qinghai Province, Aug. 11, 2013. Halimai is the oldest resident of Mahai Village, whose residents are all of the Kazak ethnic group. It used to be an underdeveloped village with poor infrastructures and living conditions. But with the help of the local government, a newly-built Mahai Village was put into use in 2002. "Our life is much better than before. It's more convenient for children to go to school and for patients to see doctors," said villagers. (Xinhua/Li Shaopeng)
