The excavation site of an ancient bridge on the Weihe River, the largest tributary of the Yellow River and a major river in Xi'an. The site was discovered by local farmers in April 2012, north of the Chucheng Gate of the Western Han Dynasty's Chang'an City (now Xi'an City) and is said to have been used during the Qin and Han dynasties. According to archeologists, the bridge, measuring 15.4 meters in width and 880 meters in length, is the first bridge that the imperial Silk Road mission of the Western Han Dynasty had to cross on its trip to central Asian and European countries.
