Photo shows a town square decorated with Russian nesting dolls in Manzhouli city, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Located in the northeast corner of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and adjoining Russia and Mongolia, Manzhouli is the region's largest land port, and has enjoyed a long reputation of being "A Window of Asia".
If it were a person, then Manzhouli would be a matchmaker, or the go-between. Three hundred years ago, when the Tea Road is in its heyday, Manzhouli was where merchants from inland Chinese cities sold tea to Russian buyers. [China.org.cn]
