The Flying Tigers Memorial Museum, located in Zhijiang, central China’s Hunan province, is so far the only museum exclusively devoted to the American Flying Tigers commanded by Lieutenant General Claire Lee Chennault. The Flying Tigers, officially known as the 1st American Volunteer Group (AVG) of the Chinese Air Force, was composed of pilots from the United States' Army Air Forces, Navy, and Marine Corps. They demonstrated exceptional bravery and tactics during the Second World War and made great contributions to fighting Japan’s aggression against China.
