Porters wait for passengers on the platform as a train on the Kalka-Shimla Railway stops in Shimla station in north India's Himachal Pradesh, May 28, 2014. The Kalka-Shimla Railway is a 762 mm narrow gauge railway in North-West India's Himachal Pradesh travelling along a mostly mountainous route from Kalka to Shimla. It is known for dramatic views of the hills and surrounding villages. The 96-km long railway was built since 1898 to provide a service to the highland town of Shimla. Three still fully operational railways, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in India's West Bengal, the Nilgiri Mountain Railway in south India's Tamil Nadu and the Kalka-Shimla Railway, are recognised as the UNESCO World Heritages together.
