Biasha: The last gunslinger village in China

0 Comment(s)Print E-mail Xinhua, July 24, 2014

A boy has his head shaved by a sickle as his rites of passage at the age of 15 in Biasha, a Miao ethic village in Congjiang County, Miao-Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Qiandongnan, southwest China's Guizhou Province, July 23, 2014. The local Miao people here stick to their traditional costumes dating back to thousands of years. Though guns are strictly regulated in China, men in Biasha are permitted to carry and use guns as to protect their tradition. Therefore, Biasha is called as the last gunslinger village in China and this draws more and more tourists here. (Xinhua/Tao Liang)
