Movie fans often imagine being a part of the films they watch and hope to meet like-minded characters in similar situations. Despite the distance between movie-goers and the film production bases, fans can still experience what it's like to be part of their favorite movie by visiting Beijing's Top 10 movie-themed places.

No. 1 Caihuoche (Trainspotting) Movie Restaurant

The Caihuoche Movie Restaurant features a simple but inviting building which is both elegant and unrestrained in appearance. The specialty dishes served at the restaurant come from the country's southwestern cuisines; sour and spicy. The complex flavors are enriched by blending ingredients from Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia with authentic cooking methods.

The restaurant has been dedicated to the screening and publicizing of independent films since it was first opened. As a forerunner for the screening of Chinese folk independent movies as well as bar screenings, it is also one of the earliest open culture salons in Beijing. The place provides a platform upon which young independent directors can present their personal films and communicate with each other in an unfettered way.

Address: House C1, No. 46 Fang's Lane, Dongcheng District. Average Spend: 70 yuan
