Penglai under a mysterious autumn veil

Penglai in Shandong Province is located on the tip of the north end of the Jiaodong Peninsula. It has been known as a mysterious site for thousands of years because it is surrounded by fog year-round. But the place becomes charming when autumn arrives. Each morning the rising sun casts rays of sunshine through light clouds and bathes the seaside city in golden warmth. As one of China's four ancient landmark pavilions, Penglai Pavilion stands on a mountain cliff facing the sea. The flaming red and golden leaves of the maple trees there in autumn add a touch of color to the historical architecture.[China.org.cn]
