Kaiping Diaolou and Villages, feature the Diaolou, multi-storied defensive village houses in Kaiping, Guangdong Province, which display a complex and flamboyant fusion of Chinese and Western structural and decorative forms. Kaiping's 'diaolou' were added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in 2007 and are the only such site in Guangdong Province. [China.org.cn]
