The red-crowned crane is a beautiful and precious bird. According to statistics, by the end of 2010, there were only 1,500 red-crowned cranes in the world and 1,000 of them would spend the winter in China. In Zhalong wetland in Qiqihar, northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, a nature protection area has been established to better protect the red-crowned crane. (Photo source: people.cn)
