The hillside village of Dachang in Yuxian county, North China’s Shanxi province, has became a popular spot due to its unique buildings that are made of predominantly loess mud and stones. The village, located in deep mountains and unknown to many for approximately 1000 years, is attracting an increasingly number of tourists, especially painters, photographers, and architects.
