A foreign model, dressed in a Western-style red gown, was recently seen posing for pictures in Prince Kung's Mansion, a famous ancient building in Beijing. The seeming contrast, with a modern foreign girl in a traditional Chinese residence, attracted a lot of attention. Prince Kung’s Mansion lies on a quiet street at the renowned Shichahai scenic area of Beijing. Serving as the residence of He Shen, Emperor Qian Long’s favorite minister and the personal abode of Yonglin, brother of Emperor Jia Qing, before being occupied by Prince Kung, the sixth son of Emperor Dao Guang, the mansion is now the largest and best-preserved imperial residence in China.
