Yingxian Wooden Pagoda is regarded as one of the three world-famous pagodas, together with the Eiffel Tower in France and Pisa Leaning Tower in Italy. Located in Yingxian, Suzhou City, north China's Shanxi Province, the pagoda is the largest and oldest Buddhist pagoda in China totally built with wood. It is also named Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple. The pagoda, built in 1056 during the Liao Dynasty, has a history of over 1,000 years. It is built on a four-meter-high groundwork with a total height of 67.31 meters, and a diameter of 30.27 meters at the bottom. [China.org.cn/Photo by Zhang Jian]
