Shennongjia Nature Reserve in the western part of Hubei Province lies between Daba and Wudang Mountains. It has an attractive landscape with a lofty mountains and boundless forests.

The 40th session of the World Heritage Committee in Istanbul put Shennongjia in Hubei Province on the prestigious World Heritage List as a natural site on July 15， 2016, bringing to 50 the number of listed Chinese sites. [China.org.cn]
