An exhibition titled "The Great Spirit of the Craftsman" featuring eight types of superb crafts of Beijing has opened at the Capital Museum in Beijing. The exhibition showcases 276 sets of local crafts, including jade and lacquerware carvings, palace carpet weaving and Beijing embroidery. Crafts from ancient time all the way to 1949 are on display, showcasing the cultural development of Beijing with an-almost-900-year history as the Chinese capital. Seven of the eight types of Beijing crafts on display have already been inscribed on the Chinese National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
