Home to more than 300-thousand wooden printing blocks used to produce sutras on religion, history, literature, art, medicine, mathematics and astronomy, the Dege Sutra Printing House is the biggest of the three printing houses in China's Tibetan regions, the other two being in Tibet Autonomous Region and Gansu Province.

Located on the second floor of Dege County's Gengqing Temple in Sichuan Province's Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the Dege Printing House is considered one of the most treasured sites of Tibetan culture and history. [China.org.cn/Photo by Han Jiajun]
