Stolen pagoda body returned to Chinese mainland

Photo taken on April 15, 2017 shows inscriptions on the Dengyu stone tower in Taiyuan, capital of north China's Shanxi Province. A donation ceremony was held Sunday for a Taiwanese monastery to return an ancient pagoda body that was stolen 19 years ago from Shanxi Province. Dengyu stone tower, originally located in Dengyu village of Yushe county, Shanxi, features Buddha images carved into the four-faced tower body. The colorful piece was made in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). (Xinhua/Li He)
