Photo taken on April 27, 2017 shows the Chinese-style tiles in the Chinese Scholar's Garden at the Snug Harbor on Staten Island, New York, the United States. The New York Chinese Scholar's Garden, or Jixing Yuan in Chinese, was opened to public in 1999, providing a place for people to enjoy the beauties of a Chinese classic garden. The garden is a dedicated work by a team of 40 Chinese artists and craftsmen, who spent a year in China creating the Garden's components and another six months in Staten Island as craftsmen-in-residence at Snug Harbor to complete the construction. In 2016, the Chinese Scholar's Garden received about 10,000 tourists, a quarter of them belonging to education tours. For this year, the garden's administration department projects an increase of tourists over the last year, especially for those school-aged coming here to learn about Chinese culture.
