82-year-old man records his hometown by giant painting

Shen Houfu, 82, paints in his home in Shaoxing City of east China's Zhejiang Province Aug. 31, 2017. Shen began his creation of a giant painting depicting what his hometown was like according to his childhood memory 8 years ago when he was hospitalized with cancer diagnoses. Upon his recovery, he continued to create more paintings on the ancient towns in such a comprehensive way that the 47 paintings he created serve as a blue print for a local town renovation project by a land developer. "I regard it as our responsibility to keep the historical and relic heritage of the town to our future generations." Shen said. (Xinhua/Weng Xinyang)
