The Quebec Tourism Industry Alliance recently held a promotional event in Beijing.

Quebec is Canada's second-largest province by area, blending French heritage and North American cultural influences, and has French as the major official language.

China is an important emerging market for Quebec, Dominique Labelle, director of international marketing of the alliance, said at the event.

"We're striving to strengthen cooperation with Chinese tourism operators and travel agencies to offer in-depth travel experience for Chinese tourists."

After the United States, Canada receives the largest number of foreign tourists from China.

Chinese tourists visit Quebec to enjoy its ancient city, pretty villages, delicious food and skiing. The Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City, which claims to be one of the most photographed hotels in the world due to its architecture and history, seems to be a must-see place for Chinese travelers.

The province has more than 30 national parks, with various activities such as trails and hiking for those who want to enjoy the outdoors. It is also home to about 90 mammal species, including bears and moose, 300 species of birds and 13 species of whales. The best time to observe marine animals is from May to October.

There are direct flights from Beijing or Shanghai to Montreal.
