Located in Guanghan city, Sichuan province, the Sanxingdui Museum exhibits unearthed artifacts from the Sanxingdui archeological site, which dates back some 4,800 years. Sanxingdui, the ruins of the capital of Shu, a Kingdom in ancient China, covers an area of 120,000 square meters. In 1986, over 1,000 gold, bronze, and jade objects were excavated. The bronzes are particularly magnificent, especially the bronze heads and masks with historical and aesthetic value. [Photo by Mi Xingang / China.org.cn]
