Shanghai Disney Resort's themed gear race, The Disney Inspiration Run, is set to return for the third time this October with unique autumnal fun and Halloween surprises.

The 2019 Autumn Disney Inspiration Run will be held on the weekend of Oct. 19-20 and will see the return of the 3.5km and 5km races, as well as the popular Kids Run. Each event will be designed to immerse runners of all ages in the scenic landscape of the Shanghai Disney Resort from start to finish.

The 5km run on Oct. 20 will be open to runners aged 16 and above, and a 3.5km run will be held on Oct. 19 and 20 for everyone aged five and above, with a condition that children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The Kids Run will held on both days of the weekend for those aged 2-5 years who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Guests will be given the chance to dress up as their favorite Disney heroes and villains before running, jogging or walking with their families through an autumnal-flavored Shanghai Disney Resort, which will be clad in spooky Halloween seasonal decorations.

During the run weekend, infamous Disney villains such as The Evil Queen, Maleficent and a number of ghost pirates are expected to join Mickey and his pals and a whole host of other surprise characters from Disney, Disney·Pixar, and Marvel to line each course.

Little children will also enjoy special appearances by Chip 'n' Dale and Donald and Daisy Duck in their favorite Halloween costumes along their course.

Public registration for the 2019 Autumn Disney Inspiration Run will open at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 and places will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Every participant that crosses the finish line will receive a unique and memorable Disney character-themed medal, while enjoying special discounts on a range of experiences throughout the resort.

First organized in Orlando in 1994, Disney marathons and road races have attracted hundreds of thousands of participants across the globe, including Paris, Hong Kong, and the American cities of Orlando and Anaheim. Shanghai resort launched its first race in 2018, and then held a Spring edition in April 2019, attracting about 10,000 participants.
