Aerial photo taken on April 17, 2021 shows Zhudi Wastewater Treatment Plant by Lugu Lake in Yongning Town, Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, in southwest China's Yunnan Province. Bordering Sichuan province, Lugu is the highest lake in Yunnan, standing about 2,700 meters above sea level and surrounded by forest-clad mountains. Known as the "sparkling pearl embedded in the highland", Lugu Lake plays a key role in balancing the local environment. Lugu Lake has seen improved water quality in recent years amid continuous ecological restoration efforts in the fields of water protection, pollution prevention and control, and ecological restoration in the basin. Water quality in the lake has maintained Grade I for years, the highest level in China's water grading system. (Xinhua/Hu Chao)
