11th Beijing Int'l Cycling Tour held in Yanqing

The 11th Beijing International Cycling Tour was held at Beijing Expo Park in northwestern Beijing's Yanqing district on October 16. The event attracted more than 800 amateur and professional cyclists from Beijing riding for either recreation and competition.
The event gathered cycling fans of all ages. Besides the 3km and 5km cycling event for adult cyclists, "China Sports Lottery Cup" Beijing Youths Cycling Championship was held in the park, with more than 80 teenager professionals competing in the 200m, 500m, 1km and 2km competitions. Young scooter riders from 2 to 8 years old also appeared in the event.
Cycling has become a fashionable sport in China as people are well on their way to promote healthy living and "low carbon" lifestyle. Now, the sports event is further boosting local tourism and development.
Yanqing has been a choice destination for many cyclists because of its picturesque lanes and rustic charms. It is a cluster of well-known scenic spots such as the Great Wall and the Longqing Gorge.
Yanqing is also a popular place in Beijing's autumn, where people can experience folk culture, visit pick-it-yourself orchards and enjoy a golden, colorful autumn.
