The 2nd New Year Carnival at Wufeng, Jintang county, Chengdu, capital of southwestern China's Sichuan province, was staged from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1.
The activity was held at a Shuilongyin, a tourist project developed by local government combining stories of a TV show bearing the same name with the Wufengxi ancient town in Jintang, and attracted large numbers of tourists.
The Shuilongyin project aims to explore the historical and cultural heritage of Wufengxi, relying on the mountain and river features of the ancient town to reproduce the scenes of the TV show, so as to create Chengdu's first new immersive consumption scene combining TV shows with tourism.
With the help of lighting, music, plant landscapes, live actor performances and drones, the ancient architecture and ancient stories have brought the ancient town back to history and ushered in tourists to the historical story.
The Shuilongyin cultural tourism project aims to enrich tourism scene experience and use TV shows influences to attract tourists and activate urban consumption and night economy.
Jintang not only has the ancient town of Wufeng with profound cultural heritage, but also has high-quality cultural tourism resources such as Yunding Stone City, the only war relic site of the Song and Yuan dynasties in western Sichuan, and Ciyun Temple, a famous temple in the region.
The county also has scenic venues, good sports infrastructure, unique urban scenery, prosperous rural tourism and quiet campus scenery, which are all suitable for film and television shooting.
Jintang will fully expand the local film and television shooting locations, promote local images into various film and television works, and make its own contribution to the building of Chengdu's water city leisure and vacation resort and the formation of a new landmark of the Bashu cultural tourism corridor.
