More support policies are scheduled to be released to promote the development of tourism in China, according to Wang Shuang, a deputy to the National People's Congress, who is also the chairwoman of The Millennium City Park in Kaifeng, Henan province.
She said that currently, the tourism economy is transitioning from a phase of rapid recovery to a new period of prosperous development. But problems exist. For example, she says that the high-end custom tour market is growing at an accelerated pace, with products like immersive performances gaining popularity. Tourist consumption is becoming more rational, but the supply system still lacks the ability to meet the diversity of consumer demands.
She has proposed more precise tax support policies to stimulate the vitality of market entities, deepening capital market reforms to broaden financing channels for the cultural and tourism industry, and building a full-chain financial support system to effectively address bottlenecks and difficulties in the financing process.
The Millennium City Park is a scenic spot with re-creations of scenes from the 12th-century monumental scroll painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival". It combines traditional culture with modern high-tech facilities and offers an immersive experience to visitors. Last year, it received 8 million visits.
"China's central government has attached importance to tourism, making it an emerging strategic pillar industry, an industry closely related to livelihoods and happiness. This makes me highly motivated and optimistic about the future," Wang said.
