The 11th Hebi Cherry Blossom Festival opened on April 2 in Hebi, Henan province, and will run until April 21. The festival features 17 main events, three collaborative activities, and three business forums integrating culture, technology and tourism.

The city's cherry blossom history can be traced back around 2,500 years. Cherry trees were planted at the imperial palace in Zhaoge, the capital city at the time, which is located in Hebi's Qixian county.

An immersive springtime event, the festival aims to boost local cultural tourism and economic development by providing visitors with intangible cultural heritage showcases, live performances and interactive technological experiences.

In addition to viewing cherry blossoms, visitors can explore the city's light and shadow installations at New Century Plaza, enjoy classical and contemporary music performances, and visit the cultural markets for merchandise and local delicacies.

Local shopping districts and e-commerce platforms have introduced a range of discounts on accommodation, dining, entertainment and shopping, which can be used with government-issued consumer vouchers and corporate discount packages.
