Dege Sutra Printing House, known as China's biggest Tibetan sutra-printing house, is located in Gengqing Monastery, Dege County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China's Sichuan Province. First built in 1729, the over 9,000-square-meter ancient sutra printing house is dubbed "Encyclopedia of Tibetan Culture." The printing house, noted for its vast collections, exquisite printing techniques and fine printing materials, stores more than 830 classical works and over 300,000 wooden printing blocks which are of great academic value in the study of Tibetan history, culture and religion. [China.org.cn/Photo by Han Jiajun]
