World's oldest 'panda grandpa' dies

The photo taken on Dec. 21, 2016 shows Pan Pan at the Dujiangyan base of the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda in southwest China's Sichuan Province. Pan Pan, the world's oldest male panda, died at 31 on the morning of December 28. Pan Pan has more than 130 descendants, accounting for 25 percent of the world's captively bred panda population.
