The 2nd China Emei Mountain International Tea Culture Expo opened at Sichuan International Travel Expo Center, Emeishan City on Thursday.

Jointly sponsored by Leshan city government along with the agricultural department, the overseas Chinese affairs office and the expo affairs bureau of Sichuan provincial government, the four-day expo has a trade area of 26,000 square meters with 100 standard booths and 140 special ones.

This year’s edition has attracted 256 corporate exhibitors, including 53 overseas ones from 17 countries and regions including Russia, India and Canada. They will mainly exhibit six categories of tea (green tea, black tea, yellow tea, white tea, oolong and dark green tea) and various tea products such as herb tea, tea drinks, tea food and tea-made health care products.

Two hundred and thirty five investors and purchasing agents, including 35 foreign ones from 15 countries and regions, have been invited to participate and place order at the expo.

It is estimated that investment deals worth 2.41 billion yuan, deals for on-the-spot transactions worth 1.2 billion yuan and deals for later transactions worth 8 billion yuan will be signed at the event.

A wide array of activities have been arranged for the expo centering on the three main themes of tea art, tea products and tea tourism, including forums, exhibitions, tea contest, contract signing and new product releasing.
