Ganzi: a cool summer destination in Sichuan

Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located on the southeast fringe of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, at the junction of the four provincial-level divisions of Sichuan, Yunnan, Tibet and Qinghai. It is praised as the Last Shangri-La.

July to September is the best time to visit Ganzi because its attractions are most engrossing at this time of the year. A pleasant temperature, ranging between 14 and 24 with occasional snowfalls, is another plus for Ganzi as a summer destination.

Ganzi will hold the Mountain Tourism Festival in mid-August. Multiple activities will be staged during the event including self-driving tours around Ganzi, a parade of fancy cars, RV camping, living in tent hotels and experiencing well-designed tourist routes and all-terrain vehicles.
