Zengjia Mountain: an ideal place to beat the summer heat

Zengjia Mountain Scenic Area is located in Chaotian District, Guangyuan City, at the junction of Sichuan and Shaanxi provinces. With a longitude ranging from 106゜56′38″to 106゜08′55″ east and a latitude ranging from 32゜30′13″ to 32゜36′54″ north, the scenic area is bounded by Lizi Pass to the north, Yudong River to the south, Majiatang to the west and Wugenshu to the east.

The scenic area covers 518 square kilometers in total with an average altitude of 1,400 meters. Its annual average temperature is 12℃ with a summer average of 23℃. A forest coverage rate of 74 percent has earned the scenic area the nickname of a “natural oxygen bar.” It is also called “the kingdom of karst caves”and “the hometown of stone forest and stone caves” for its unique landforms.

The scenic area is also the meeting point of the west Sichuan culture, Silk Road culture and the Guanzhong culture along the ancient western Shu roads.
