Despite the end of the eight-day-long National Day and Middle-Autumn Day holiday in early October, there are still many tourists visiting the Giant Buddha Scenic Area in Leshan now.

Located at the confluence of the Minjiang, Qingyi and Dadu rivers, the scenic area has been made more attractive with the recent launch of a night tour of Sanjiang.

Sanjiang translates as Three Rivers, namely Minjiang, Qingyi and Dadu rivers.

The tour has become a big draw for visitors and thus a new tourist highlight in Leshan.

"I'm used to the night views of the Victoria Harbour and the quaint light show on the three rivers has a whole different flavor,” said a tourist surnamed Wang from Guangzhou. “The Giant Buddha looks quite different at night. It is such as worthwhile visit.”

The tour was a key element at the Fourth Sichuan International Travel Expo held in Leshan in mid-September. Extending 24 kilometers, it is currently the largest of all night tour programs already in operation in Sichuan.

The tour was so popular during the National Day holiday that tickets were very hard to get.
