In Dagu Glacier, you will be awed not only by the lofty mountains, but also by the limpid water.

A beautify deep valley in Heshui County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, Dagu is a place immortals would like to choose as their abode.

Located between 2,300 and 5,100 meters above sea, the scenic area affords a great variety of natural sights. It is also home to the ruins of a massive quaternary glacier.

Under the azure sky, snow-covered mountains undulate on the horizon; alpine lakes scatter all over the area; snowfields, diversely-tinted forests and smoke curling up from kitchen chimneys constitute a beautiful scroll painting of man and nature coexisting in harmony.

The place is also known for its animal diversity and rich folk customs.

In Heishui County, there are three tributaries of Minjiang River, namely Heshui River, Small Heshui River and Maoergai River. In addition there are 48 brooks.

The rivers that criss-cross the county are characterized with steep beds, rapid currents and big drops, generating rich water resources.

Red Stone Beach is a tourist attraction in Dagu Glacier Scenic Area. The stones take on a red color in the sun because they are covered by a layer of algae that is rich in carotene.
