Located in Emeishan city in Leshan, southwest in Sichuan, Mount Emei boasts enchanting natural landscape and profound Buddhist and Taoist culture, attracting large crowds of visitors annually and earning it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Inspired by the fairytale beauty, a gourmet food venue at the foot of the mountain created a menu of dishes blending the soothing scent of tea leaves with a rich variety of food materials including fish, beef filet, pork rib, shrimp, and abalone slices.
The tea ingredients used for the dishes include the famous Tieguanyin oolong tea, green tea variety Xueya, and scented tea variety Piaoxue.
Xueya green tea is made of tender tea leaves picked in early spring in Qicheng Mountains, 68 kilometers to the west of Chengdu, as well as parts of Henan and Shandong provinces. Piaoxue scented tea is made of jasmine flowers and tender tea leaves picked in early spring among the Emei Mountain.
Delicious pastries are also on offer at the Meishicun venue on Baoguoshi Jingqu Lu, near the Emei Shan Grand Hotel. Green tea powder or tea leaves are blended with flour, sugar and other ingredients to make the deserts.
