Located in the southwest corner of Datong City, Shanxi Province, Huayan Temple is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao (907-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) regimes. It was built in the 8th year of Qingning reign (1062) of Liao Regime and partially destroyed in the war in the 2nd year of Baoda reign of Liao Regime.
